A sermon on Mary ValtortaDear faithful, one of the duties of a pastor is to warn his sheep against wolves. In the spiritual world we have 2kinds of wolves: some are recognisable as wolves, others are dressed as sheep or even as pastors. St. Ignatius inhis rules of discernment of spirits speaks of 2 kinds of temptations: the usual one in which the devil attracts usdirectly to a forbidden pleasure: a fruit on a tree of someone else or money without working for it. He gets mostpeople in his power by luxury. Let us not forget, only married people in the legitimate act of marriage have theright to use their faculties of generation; the enjoyment of marriage belongs only to those who are ready toaccept the duty proceeding from the marriage-act, the upbringing and education of a child. Pope Paul VI in aninfallible statement declared: "The marriage-act must remain open to generation", that means no voluntaryobstacle, like an anti-conceptive means or sterilisation can be allowed under pain of mortal sin. Birthcontrol byperiodical abstinence is only allowed for a very serious reason. Limiting the number of children without veryimportant reason is matter for mortal sin.2. The second way the devil tempts people is under appearance of something good. He misleads people byfalse apparitions. In my country, where everything is relaxed, the devil attracted many people by a marialapparition. It started very devoutly: traditional Mass, rosary, processions, pilgrimages, penance, manyconversions. But it finished wrong: the seer started to absolve the sins by imposing his hands, he said: "Myhands are Jesus hands", people started to have contempt for the sacraments and were running behind theseextraordinary things. The devil can also mislead us by a false devotion: some years ago, an image was printedand distributed which showed our Lady with a chasuble. This image was forbidden by the H.
