Syriac writer, metropolitan of Nisibis and Armenia of the Assyrian Church of the East, author of 'Marganitha' (Book of the Jewel), a theological encyclopaedia. He wrote biblical commentaries, polemical treatises against heresy, dogmatic and legal writings, and an author catalogue. He died in 1318
